Call for Papers - Military History Consortium

The Military History Consortium (MHC) will be holding its first annual conference on 7/8 June 2024 at Lancaster University in the United Kingdom. The organising committee invites panel and individual paper proposals on any aspect of military history and the history of war and conflict in its broadest sense, ranging from ancient to modern times and spanning the entire globe. This includes the interactions between political, economic, social, and cultural history with military history.

ICMH Newsletter #39 is now available

Please find attached the International Commission of Military History Newsletter #38, December 2022. The intent of the ICMH Newsletter is to provide a regular and tangible means of communications between all components of the International Commission of Military History -- the leadership and Executive Board, the Full Board, the three specialized committees, national commissions, and individual military historians. This digital platform will permit us to transcend distance and language barriers, to enhance the continued relevance and viability of the International Commission of Military History, to further engender worldwide the spirit of military history professionalism and cooperation, and the sharing of best practices.

The winner of the Corvisier Prize 2023

The President, Prof. Dr Massimo de Leonardis, announced on 13 June 2023 that the Jury, after a careful process of selection, decided to award the 2023 Corvisier Prize to Dr. Eamonn O’Keeffe for his PhD dissertation “Musical Warriors: British Military Music and Musicians during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars” held in History at the University of Oxford.
