André Corvisier Prize 2026 - X Edition

The International Commission of Military History awards the André Corvisier Prize for PhD theses on Military History, named after the distinguished French scholar who was for ten years President of ICMH and then President of Honour. For the 2026 edition, the prize will be awarded for a PhD thesis discussed and approved in 2025 at a recognized University.

A message from the President

The International Commission of Military History (ICMH), founded in 1938, is a non- profit and non-governmental International Organization affiliated with the International Committee of Historical Sciences.

According to its 2017 Statutes, “[t]he aim of the ICMH is to foster and co-ordinate studies and researches in the field of military history in the broadest sense, in a spirit of international friendship, so that scholars can become better acquainted with each other, co-operate and share the results of their work.”

Results of 2025 ICMH Leadership Elections

The International Commission of Military History (ICMH) holds leadership elections, to maintain continuity while providing opportunities to improve the Commission’s effectiveness and efficiency, every five years. The 2025 ICMH leadership elections were conducted on 5 September 2025 after the General Assembly during the 50th ICMH Congress, held in Dakar, Senegal.
