The Military History School in Faenza, Italy
The International Commission of Military History is pleased to endorse the Fifth Edition of the Military History School, the self-training school for undergraduate students and researchers in military history organized by the Italian Society of Military History and curated by its Committee for Junior Scholars.
Held at the Museo del Risorgimento e dell’Età Contemporanea in Faenza, Italy, from 10 to 12 September 2026, the School serves as an important academic initiative for the development of historical research in the field of military history, fostering dialogue among emerging scholars and established researchers alike.
The initiative is open to all scholars, with the call for papers specifically addressed to undergraduate and MA students, PhD candidates, research fellows, and early-career researchers interested in military history. Participants may contribute by presenting a research proposal in a panel, submitting an advanced research paper for seminar discussion with two discussants, serving as discussants, or attending as audience members.
